Hi there, it's Grace!
You may know me as your local dog trainer, but what you may not know is that I am a 200-hour certified yoga instructor. I discovered yoga in 2017 after the sudden death of my beloved dog, Stinks. I found the practice to be a glimmer of peace during a challenging time of grief, and immediately I was hooked.
Fast forward to today, I am on a journey of combining my passion for dogs and yoga, honoring them both and empowering my students to use the emotional regulation learned through this beautiful practice to benefit not only their lives but also the lives of those around them. I teach a blend of Vinyasa and Hatha style yoga with a sprinkle of somatic healing and nervous system regulation techniques.
My goal as a teacher is to encourage my students to continue a practice of their own and use the tools they uncover in my classes off their mats and in their daily lives.

Puppy yoga classes provide an excellent opportunity for puppies to socialize in a controlled environment. Interacting with calm and centered humans helps them learn appropriate social behaviors, such as playing, sharing space, and respecting boundaries. Interactions which are crucial for their emotional and behavioral development.
Your participation plays a vital role in building the puppies' confidence, reducing their chances of developing anxiety, and building a general sense of trust towards humans.
The yoga will offer a calm and relaxing environment for the puppies, helping them feel safe and secure, reducing their stress levels, and promoting overall well-being at such a crucial time in their development.
With that being said, I want to say thank you to each of you who choose to play a part in this.

Practicing yoga with puppies enhances the co-regulation between humans and animals. Co-regulation refers to the mutual influence that humans and animals have on each other's emotional states. The presence of puppies in the class can help practitioners feel more relaxed, joyful, and connected, thanks to the release of oxytocin, the "bonding hormone," triggered by interactions with animals.
If you've always wanted to practice yoga but your nerves have gotten the best of you, this is the class for you.
Interacting with the puppies during class can significantly reduce stress levels and promote a sense of calm and well-being. The playful antics of the puppies, combined with the meditative aspects of yoga, create a therapeutic environment that helps both puppies and practitioners unwind and let go of tension.
